Whispers

Winds whisper your name; /
the letters catch on the grass; /
tears rain on the earth.

Brooding trucks

Between brooding trucks, /
fumes and metal shuddering, /
your voice lifts my soul.

Writer’s Time Machine

Writer’s Time Machine: /
Errors fixed as they appear. /
Editor dyes dies sad.

Writer comes home

Worlds in Wonder mourn. /
A comet lights heaven’s void. /
A writer comes home.

In memory of Ray Bradbury, Aug. 22, 1920 – June 6, 2012

Liquid mirror

So many puddles. /
Each rain drop muddles the world. /
Liquid, dark mirror.

[Editor’s note: This Haiku was a response to one found on another blog. However, when I reblogged the original and my response. Neither one came out very well. Seems the reblogging technology doesn’t comprehend haiku. Anyway, here is my haiku.]

The passion of dry weather

Sun consumes the sky.
Earth’s belly bulges with fire.
Night weeps empty tears.

Unkempt

A quiet moment:
My thoughts about you gather.
Unkempt, lost what ifs.

Rattles

The garden wall leans.
The wind rattles old vines as
the cold chains my heart.
