Spring

Spring begins gray, /

Bleary eyes crusted with tears, /

Photo finish Friday (and poem): “All is calm — maybe”

All is calm, all is bright. /
Tree is up and full of light. /
Blinded my neighbor across the street. /
His retinas are fried like old, dried meat. /
Santa, come and visit me soon. /
This tree’s so bright, it’s an envy of the moon. /
I’ve been good, the best I’ve been yet. /
I only have one or two things I regret. /
The body in the basement, well that doesn’t count. /
She ticked me off with her bouncy flounce. /
And that man in the meat locker, he was frigid to me. /
Said I had COVID. Now how can that be? /
No, Santa, I have been very very good. /
My tree is bright. My wants be as they should. /
All is calm, all is bright /
Unless you pass me by on this special night.

Photo finish Friday: “Go left at the fork”

Go left at the fork.

Go right at the spoon.

Go under the knife

And jump over the moon.

The banana split

During its salad days.

It was easy as pie

To cake walk away.

He’s such a dish.

She’s gone to pot.

They’re in a stew

That’s boiling hot.

His goose is cook.

Her mind is fried.

Don’t butter them up,

They’re raw inside.

If you egg her on

The yoke’s on you.

She’s no apple of your eye

By the time she’s through.

The tables will be turned.

The empty will satiate

As you’re rounding third

And trying to steal home plate.

Life is a pickle,

This you can’t deny.

It’s the pot or frying pan

No mater how hard you try.

You can stir up a frenzy.

You can sift through the rubble.

The ingredients are there

To pickle all your troubles.

When things are ajar

And you feel in a jam

Just remember life will gel

If you don’t act the ham.

Go left at the fork.

Go right at the spoon.

Go under the knife.

Do your dishes soon.

Photo finish Friday: “Tudoring”

The reign in Splain Falls /

manely on the plane. /

And what misses goes down in Seine. /

I cried a river when you road the train. /

Me heart aorta be of a tougher strain. /

The reign in Splain Falls /

manely on the plane. /

It splatters against the window, /

but I feel no pane.
