Photo finish Friday: “A penny….”

What did the big penny say to the little penny? What did the little penny say to the big penny?

What did the big penny say to the little penny?
What did the little penny say to the big penny?

Big to little:

A.: A penny for your thoughts.

or

A.: And you thought there was no career advancement.

or

A.: I penny you.

Little to big:

A: Pass the buck.

or

A: So that’s what inflation does.

or

A.: Are you my penny, auntie?

Photo finish Friday: “Honestly”

Ol' Abe and his axe.

Ol’ Abe and his axe.

After years of chopping down trees, Abe came to his first flower garden and, honestly, wasn’t sure what to do. It was the first time in a long time he had had to axe himself a question. So, he stood and stood and stood, and waited for the answer.

Photo finish Friday: “To the point”

The mustache disguise.

The mustache disguise.

In order to escape a man named Stan, who said he only wanted to give her a glass unicorn because it reminded him of her, Stella the Unicorn started wearing a mustache disguise.

Stan said the glass unicorn was only a metaphor, nothing more.

Stella said it was a mixed metaphor, as well as a mixing of plays, which was something Stan didn’t understand.

More’s the pity, Stella thought, because Stan was kind of cute in that lumpish way human males were. But that wasn’t the point.

Stan, unlike her fake mustache, could grow him, but Stella knew it wouldn't lead to anything lasting. It never did with humans.

Photo finish Friday: “Love on the rocks”

Sometimes love is literally on the rocks. Or, at least spelled out on them.

Sometimes love is literally on the rocks. Or, at least spelled out on them.

With something like this you could “fall in love.”

Or, love is just a stone’s throw away.

Would you buy a yard (of anything) from this "man"?

Would you buy a yard (of anything) from this “man”?

Does this mean that all the best buys have already been “picked clean”?

Unable to go to sleep before a big anatomy test, the veterinary student got up and mapped out the horse bones ... on the side of a horse.

Photo finish Friday: “Half of it”

Sometimes, a relationship just doesn't hold together.

Sometimes, a relationship just doesn’t hold together.

The man in the waders

by David E. Booker

The man in waders

met the woman in half.

When others saw them,

they thought they were daft.

They met at the creek,

down by the water’s edge.

It was a salvage operation

of the heart it is said.

She could not say

where her lower half went.

Like a little mermaid

she was half woman, half rent.

The relationship didn’t last.

Alas it is said,

the fact she had no bottom

went straight to his head.
