An old bud withered. /
A young bud might not bear fruit. /
Still, beauty lived.

Sign
Don’t stop at the sign. /
Travel on beyond the wires. /
Your horizon waits.

One of these days
Oh tree, my tree,
Please hide me.
I want to stay
Away today.
I don’t want work
Nor stupid jerks
To come my way.
I want to be
By my little tree
And fill my my days
With poetry.
Oh tree, little tree
Stand by me.
Please, please
Hide me.

One
One brown leaf reflects
winter’s cycle as the tree
holds its emptiness.

Drink the green
If the red runs out, drink the green,
though the green can be quite mean.
Served at room temp or a little warmer,
it is said to make you adore the former.
It will drive you out into the day,
groping, hoping to get away
from awfulness in your mouth
that tastes like a mouse gone south.

New is the wonder /
