Not a curse
Get vaccinated. Wear a mask.
Neither are difficult tasks.
Do it for yourself and your friends to see.
Show compassion and responsibility.
It’s not a trick and it’s not a shame.
Treat yourself and others the same.
Kindness and courtesy are not a curse.
Being sick or dead would be far worse.
Rise up now and do your part.
A mask and a shot are moral places to start.

Butterfly
When I see a butterfly,
I think of you.
Not because you flutter
And onto other flowers move.
No, you are more steady
Than that,
A Gardner’s steady
In a wide brimmed hat.
Turning the soil
And amending where needed
So the butterflies will come
To the flowers seeded.
They know not the beauty
Of your touch.
Only the beauty
Of summer’s flower rush.
I think of you
When I see butterflies,
Fluttering up and around
Reaching for the bright blue sky
Then swooping back to your prepared ground.

“The day of rest comes but once a week, and sorry am I that it does not come oftener. Man is so constituted that he can stand more rest than this. I often think regretfully that it would have been so easy to have two Sundays in a week, and yet it was not so ordained. The omnipotent Creator could have made the world in three days just as easily as he made it in six, and this would have doubled the Sundays. Still it is not our place to criticize the wisdom of the Creator.” – Reflections on the Sabbath – Mark Twain

Oh, my balls…
Oh, my balls are a tangled mess /
Clattered together like a car wreck compress. /
Oh, my balls are twisted tight. /
Not really painful, but oh, what a sight. /
Oh, my balls are dangling there /
Unable to move in the moaning air. /
Yes, my balls are one big wad. /
They’d be blue if attached to a bod. /
But thankfully, they’re just hanging there, /
Bunched up on their rack without a care.
