Garden
Garden objet d’art /
Among the flowers of Spring /
Man’s discards reborn.

Asleep upon her throne /
The cat who came to dinner. /
All that was without /
Now purrs deep within her./
Approach upon bended knee /
Should you be around /
And be sure your face /
Is suitably pointed down.

Resistance is futile
Yes, I am a stray. /
Feeding me is encouraged. /
Petting discouraged.

Colors
The colors of stars /
Constellations in bloom /
Heavens underfoot.

Hanging around
Cold hanging around /
cleaving its final moments /
to buds come too soon.

Green leaf
My green, four-leaf pills./
Am I Irish enough? /
I swallow my pride.

Buds
Early morning buds /
brave Spring’s light and cruel caress. /
Tomorrow blooms.

The nose
The nose knows no no’s. /
Olfactory exploring. /
The damp detective.

Active
Active head rest /
Surely, the car makes a jest. /
I laugh as air bag crests.
